A meeting of bankers and district/sectoral officers was held to review the progress and performance of bankers in key areas and priority sector lending for the quarter ending September 2015.

 District Development Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda while chairing the meet had a detailed review of progress achieved by banks and various departments like DRDA, KVIB, KVIC, DIC, SC/ST/OBC Corporation, Agriculture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry etc. under various schemes like KCC, NULM, PMEGP etc.

It was intimated that the deposit and advances of banks as on ending September 2015 stood at 2513 Crore and 1344 Crore respectively, thus achieving a CD ratio of 53.50%. Further, District has achieved 45.97% of the total Annual credit Plan up to quarter ending September for the year 2015-16.

The Lead Bank Manager, Veerji Koul while giving a detailed account of the performance of Banks during the quarter informed that the progress under priority sectors has been above the RBI stipulations. DDM NABARD, Surinder Singh gave a detailed view about the various developmental projects initiated by NABARD in district Samba.

The meeting was informed that against the bench mark of 40% under priority sector advances, the banks have comfortably achieved 53.50% during the quarter. The achievement under advances to weaker sections of the society was 17.54% against the national goal of 10% and 6.28% to Women beneficiaries against national goal of 5%.

The DDC while reviewing the progress asked banks to provide separate data for female account holders so that proper monitoring of financial inclusion could be tracked. She directed the banks and line departments, to ensure effective coordination to achieve desired results like reducing/recovery NPA of department sponsored cases.

Later, DDC also held a meeting with enumerators of Samba district for the process of surveying in respect of National Food Security Act. She directed taking special care while recording data like Bank Account number, Aadhar number, Mobile number and other parameters. She further directed Tehsildars to take weekly review of the progress achieved in this regard.
