District Development commissioner Kishtwar, G N Balwan today conducted a surprise market check from DC office to General Bus stand. The market inspection was conducted to ensure that all commodities are sold at affordable prices besides to assess stock position of essential commodities in the market.
During inspection, he directed the Tehsildar to ensure that rate list of all commodities sold are displayed at conspicuous places in the shops and to keep a check on black marketing and hoarding activities if any in the market.
Mr. Balwan expressed concern over frequent traffic jams caused due to encroachments of the road space by the shopkeepers and hawkers and directed the Executive Officer of municipality to remove all such encroachments and also to move the hawkers at a designated place. “Repair all lanes and drains on priority basis”, he further asked Executive Officer of the municipality.
The DDC also inspected developmental works undertaken BRGF in the town during the previous financial year and stressed upon expediting pace of such works.
On observing deteriorated condition of toilets at general bus stand, Kishtwar Mr Balwan further issued directions to the Executive Officer of the municipality to make it functional within a week.
On the occasion, the DDC was accompanied by CPO Kishtwar, Dr.Yasir Balwan, Tehsildar Kishtwar, and Executive Officer of the municipality among others.
