Don’t leave stations without permission of DC, Abdul Haq directs officers

Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq  Wednesday asked doctors posted in remote areas not to leave their places of postings without the permission of concerned Deputy Commissioners.

The Minister said this while reviewing health care facilities of district Kupwara. He asked the doctors and other officials to remain stationed   at their respective places of posting especially in remote areas during upcoming winter season and asked them not to leave without permission of the concerned DCs.

The Minister asked the doctors and other officials posted in remote areas especially Keran and Karnah to be stationed at their places of posting and asked DC Kupwara to establish a hospital under Ayush in the district.

Refering to the vacancies lying vacant in health department in  Kupwara district, the Minister asked Director Health Services to take steps to fill these vacancies and also asked him to depute some local doctors to Srinagar for training purpose to ensure specialized treatment in the district hospitals.

Earlier Chief Medical Officer Kupwara informed the Minister that there are 309 medical centres in the district which includes one district hospital, seven Sub-District Hospitals, One DTC, 31 Primary Health Centres, 194, Sub Centres.

He said during current year 2385 major surgeries and 36515 minor surgeries were performed in these hospitals while 5083 women delivered their babies in the government hospitals. He said there are 68 ambulances available in the district.

Minister also asked the district authorities to complete the construction works on the under construction hospital within stipulated time so that the hospitals can be started earliest for the benefit of the people.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director ISM, Chief Medical Officer Kupwara, ADC Kupwara and other officials.
