Lovers of performing art thronged the historic Tagore Hall

Lovers of performing art thronged the historic Tagore Hall Tuesday evening where the blend of Zahida Taranum’s voice and Mehjoor’s poetry mesmerized the audience for hours.
The musical evening was arranged by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and J&K Bank under the ‘Art for All’ initiative of the Bank being organized under Corporate Social Responsibility programme. Giving details Secretary Academy, Dr. Aziz Hajini said that such events are aimed at reviving, restoring and promoting aesthetic and
treasured heritage of the state. “With support of J&K Bank under its CSR initiative, we intend to host such cultural evenings on regular basis which shall continue to be arranged so as to keep the younger generation of Kashmiris abreast
with the rich and colourful past of Jammu and Kashmir,” Hajini said. With an impressive gathering in attendance, the programme began with performance of Zahid Taranum. This was followed by a short play skit “Waqtuq Aalav” by Rishi Rashid which was presented by Azad Cultural Club, Ganderbal. Amid these performances, popular humorist Nazir Josh engaged audience with his comedy.
