Minister visits firing affected areas/ sanctions funds for healthcare

Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli visited Mendhar area in district Poonch for first hand appraisal of the ground situation in Balakote sector where six civilians were killed in shelling from across the border.

Extending condolences to the bereaved family of Sarpanch Karamat, who was killed due to firing from across the border, Kohli condemned the frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan. He said the ceasefire violations have adversely affected the lives of the people living in border areas and these need to be stopped forthwith.

Earlier, the Minister chaired a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of PHC, Kallar, Chatyar and approved an amount of Rs 1.75 lakh for purchase of life saving drugs and dressing materials for patients, instruments, surgical drugs and items for labour room, upgradation of labour room, waiting chairs for patients, and for maintenance and repair work.
