Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti , Tuesday felicitated people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali wishing them happiness and well-being.
In his message of greetings on the eve of Deepawali, Mufti Sayeed hoped that the Festival of Lights would be harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the state.
The Chief Minister said while celebrating festivals, we must remember the poor and needy and share joy with them. He said we have a rich tradition of celebrating festivals in amity and brotherhood in the state, in consonance with our unique multicultural ethos.
Member Parliament & PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti, has extended warm Diwali greetings to the people of the state, expressing hope that the tradition of celebrating festivals in an atmosphere of amity and brotherhood would further strengthen and add colour to the celebrations.
In her message, Mehbooba said the auspicious occasion reflects the ultimate triumph of goodness and noble human values. “We hope this Festival of Lights brings happiness into the lives of the people of J&K,” she added.
She also prayed that the holy festival will herald peace, prosperity and progress in the state.
