Priya Sethi inaugurates Theatre Festival-2015

Minister of State for Culture, Information and Education Priya Sethi today inaugurated the Theatre Festival-2015 at DIET Auditorium Reasi.

The festival is    organized by Sangam Theatre Group Reasi and supported by Union Ministry of Culture.

MLA Reasi Ajay Nanda was the Guest of Honor on the occasion while senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi , Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and  Languages ,  Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi,  Shiv Kumar Gupta and  Abdul Sattar,  ACR Reasi were also present on the occasion.

          While speaking on the occasion, Minister complimented the organizers  of the festival- and expressed  hope that this would continue as a regular feature in future . She said that this festival gave an opportunity to the artists of the state  to show their talent and also learn about  the modern trends of the field .

          Earlier, while welcoming the guests, artists and audience, M. Akram Khan  Director Sangam Theatre Group said theatre should be promoted to strike a connect with the people He said that the  main responsibility lies on the  actors,  directors and also writers of the play to choose such topics and issues with which  common man can connect, and are related to their day to day life.

          On the inaugural day of the theatre Festival, Abhiney Kala Manch (AKM), Reasi presented famous playwright Shard Joshi’s Hindi  play ‘Ek Tha Gadha Urf Aladad Khan’  under the direction of Shadab Khan, Young theatre director of the state. The play is a political satire on the day-to-day life of a common man and his life.

          The artist who performed in the play were Sachdev Singh, Tarseem Kumar, Alka Thakur, Dharminder Rathore, Manjeet Singh, Arvind Goswami, Megha Ajnabi, Pritam Kumar, Amit, Ishan, Abhijeet , Manav, Mahil, Rohit, Sonali Sonam and Vishali. The costumes were designed by Shadab Khan, Music was rendered by Vishal Banathia, Sets  designed by Rifat Yasmeen, Lights were executed by Sahil and Tarseem and Make up was done by Akram Khan.
