Highlights of new Apple Procurement Scheme for Jammu and Kashmir

1. Government of India has announced procurement of apples produced in Jammu and Kashmir during the current season 2019.

2. NAFED will complete the entire process of procurement through designated State Government Agencies by 15th December 2019.

3. Procurement will be made directly from genuine apple growers.

4. The State Government will ensure direct payment in the Bank Account of the apple grower through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

5. All categories of apples ie A, B and C will be procured from all the apple producing districts in Jammu and Kashmir as well as designated mandis in Sopore, Shopian and Srinagar.

6. Fair prices for various categories will be fixed by the Price Committee that includes a member from the National Horticulture Board.

7. Quality Committee will ensure proper grading of varieties of apples.

8. The implementation and coordination committee at the State level will be chaired by the Chief Secretary.

9. Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Home Affairs and other Central agencies will oversee smooth implementation of the Scheme.

Heavy shelling by Pakistani Army in Balakote sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir early morning .Three houses have been damaged in the shelling and 6 cattle have died. Pakistan has been continuously violating ceasefire agreement in the line of control.

The Centre has constituted a committee to look into the distribution of assets and liabilities of J&K

The Centre has constituted a three-member committee to look into the distribution of assets and liabilities of Jammu Kashmir between two successor Union territories, which will come into existence on October 31, according to an official notification.

While former defence secretary Sanjay Mitra will be the chairman of the committee, retired IAS officer Arun Goyal and retired Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer Giriraj Prasad Gupta will be its members.

25 thousand additional troops deployed in Kashmir valley, panic among people

Centre has decided to move more 25 thousands troops to Kashmir valley. Last week 10 thousand troops were already moved to the valley which created unrest among the masses and gave rise to speculations. Now, movement of 25 thousand troops has again created panic among the common people.

Governor Satya Pal Malik had recently said in a function that movement of troops is a routine thing and forces have been deployed due to security reasons ahead of 15th August.

Last week also Govt has clarified that additional troops were brought in to strengthen the counter insurgency grid in the valley but now movement of additional 25 thousand troops has created unrest in the valley.

Pakistan once again violated ceasefire agreement in Nowshehra sector resulting in  injuries to a civilian. Pakistan fired in Nowshera Sector in District Rajouri without any provocation from Indian side.
Pakistan initiated unprovoked cease fire violation starting with firing of small arms followed by Shelling with mortars along LoC in Nowshera Sector. Indian Army also retaliated.

Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival 2019 will be a mega show

Meeting regarding celebration of Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival 2019

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khantoday convened a high level meeting in connection with the celebration of Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival 2019.

Executive Councillor for Tourism Er Phunsog Tashi, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer Kargil Development Authority Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, Assistant Director Tourism Kargil Aga Syed Toha, President All Kargil Travel Trade Association (AKTTA) Ashraf Ali besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, the CEC while underlining the importance of Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival for promotion of tourism and revival of culture and traditional games stressed on the concerned to gear up for the arrangements well in time.

Details  discussions were held on various arrangements in connection with the festival celebrations and  the dates of the festival celebrations at Kargil and Padum Zanskar were fixed as 21st , 22ndJuly 2019 and 29th, 30th July 2019 respectively.

The CEC directed the concerned officers to work in a coordinated and dedicated manner to ensure foolproof and timely arrangements to make the event a success besides to ensure wide publicity of the festival at national and international level by means of print, electronic and social media.

Meanwhile, the CEC also released the festival promo, program schedule and a documentary film on tourism in Kargil district produced by the Tourism Department LAHDC Kargil.

Pertinently, the main attractions of the festivals would be horse polo and archery matches, cultural programmes, archery exhibition matches and horse race.      Ethnic food display, theatre show, exhibition and adventure activities shall be the other attractions of the festivals.

The festivals are expected to be attended by a large number of locals as well as domestic and international tourists.

HAJ flight operations commenced from Srinagar today. A total number of 302 passengers left Srinagar for Madina. The first Spice Jet flight was flagged-off by Satya Pal Malik, Hon’ble Governor, J&K.

JK Governor Satya Pal Malik flagged off first flight of 152 Hajis for Madinah Munawwarah from Srinagar International Airport this morning. Also present were Chief Secretary B.V.R.Subrahmanyam, Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai,  Chairman Haj Committee Sheikh Jina Nabi and other senior dignitaries of the State today. All the Hajis were extended warm welcome at the Airport and all boarded the flight with lot of love and care.

Seven civilians among eleven killed in Pulwama

Police in a statement said that A search operation was launched jointly by the security forces based on a credible input about the presence of militants in Monghama area  of village Sirnoo in District Pulwama today morning.

During the search operation, which was an open field with hideout made by the terrorists, hiding militants fired indiscriminately leading to an encounter. 

Consequently Army personnel got injured and one Army jawan succumbed to his injury while others are being treated at a hospital. 

While the operation was going on, a crowd who came dangerously close from different parts to the encounter site got injured.

The injured were evacuated to hospital where unfortunately seven persons succumbed to their injuries. 

Others who were admitted in the hospital are stated to be stable.

The loss of civilians is deeply grieved. Police once again appeals the citizens to remain away from encounter site as it is a prohibited zone which involves significant danger to life because of nature of the encounter.

In this encounter three militants were killed. Bodies were handed over to the legal heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.
 
One of the killed militant has been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Thoker son of Abdul Majid Thoker resident of Sirnoo Pulwama. Pertinently, Zahoor had deserted from Army last year and joined HM terror outfit. He was a known militant commander and was wanted by law for his complicity in a series of terror crimes including attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities. Several terror cases were registered against him and the prominent among them are case FIR No. 37/2018 U/S 307 RPC 7/27 I.A.Act P/S Rajpora, Case FIR No. 105/2018 U/S ¾ Exp Sub Act, 427 RPC, 3 P.P.T Act P/S Pulwama, Case FIR No. 124/2018 U/S 7/27 I.A. Act, 148,336,149,307 RPC P/S Pulwama, Case FIR No. 128/2018 U/S ¾ Exp Sub Act 307 RPC P/S Pulwama, Case FIR No. 139/2018 U/S 307 RPC 7/25 ULA of P/S Pulwama pertaining to the killing of policemen Aqib Ahmad Wagay of Puchal Pulwama.

 
Police has registered a case in the matter. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered from the site of encounter have been taken in case records for further investigation and probe their complicity in other terror case.

Six militants killed in Bijbehra Anantnag

Six top ranked militants were killed in an encounter in Anantnag ditrict. As per reports , Operation was launched last night by security forces on a hideout in Waghama Sutkipora of Bijbeihara Anantnag. Six dead bodies of militants and six rifles have been recovered.All the deceased militants have been identified as :

1.Younis @ FurKaran resident of Takibal
2.Noor Ul Haq resident of Takibal
3.Hamza resident of Waghama
4.Dr Burhan resident of Anantnag
5.Luqman resident of Bijbihara
6.Huraira resident of Bijbihara

All of them belong to terror group Hizbul Mujahideen.

Ganderbal police solves murder mystery of minor boy

Ganderbal police has solved the murder mystery of minor boy Faisal Hussain resident of Shuhama in Ganderbal.Police have arrested a youth namely Abrar Majeed resident of soura at present residing in Buserbug.

Accused is said to be a drug addict.
Deceased was throttled by throat and died of suffocation.Faecal matter was also found on the clothes of deceased which has been sent to labortary.
Deceased was accompanied by accused and one more boy who left the place before incident took place.According to police, earlier they  were smoking together in orchard and planning to steal fruits from trees.Police says father of the deceased had turned down the proposal of accused to marry his daughter which was the main motive of murder.
