Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Ms Asiea Naqash today stressed on the need for raising awareness about various government schemes among masses.
Chairing a review meeting for developmental schemes including “Ladli Beti”, “AASRA” here today, the Minister said that the onus lies on Social Welfare Department and the people associated with it to ensure that more people avail the benefits from these schemes.
“Mass promotion of these schemes should be done by organizing awareness camps so that more people get awareness about the benefits of these schemes,” Ms. Naqash said.
Ladli Beti scheme is not a dowry, but a monetary support from government for girls to become important part of our society, the Minister added.
About “Marriage Assistance” scheme, Ms. Naqash said that it will help those whose marriages get held back due to lack of money.
Expressing her gratitude towards Centre for their various scholarship schemes, the Minister tanked for providing such schemes which help in making the future of our children.
She informed besides, general population, militancy affected children have also greatly benefited from such schemes.
Early the Minister was informed about the status of pendency and digitization of accounts in National Social Assistance Programme, and Integrated Social Security Scheme.
The meeting was attended by Director Social Welfare, Kashmir, Director ICDS, Deputy Director Social Welfare, Deputy Director ICDS, District Social Welfare Officers, District Programme Officers, and Child Development Officers.
Later, Ms. Naqash visited various government schools in Hazaratbal constituency. She was accompanied by Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. Shah Faesal.
