Four more persons have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) for criminal assault on a Kashmir bound truck on 9 October 2015. Five persons were earlier booked under PSA in the case. With this all the nine persons involved in planning and execution of the fatal attack on the truck that later resulted in one person succumbing to burn injuries have been booked under PSA.
Meanwhile, all the nine accused have been booked under Section 302 for murder as well.
District Police Udhampur submitted a fresh dossier to the District Magistrate early on 18 October 2015 seeking detention of four more persons under the Public Safety Act.
District Magistrate, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, after examining the dossier, facts and material produced on record regarding the instant case and criminal history of the accused issued warrants for detention of the persons involved in the attack under PSA.
Based on the PSA order passed by the District Magistrate all nine accused have been shifted to Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
The four accused booked under PSA include Jasbir Singh S/O Baldev Singh R/O Laddan Power House Udhampur, Rahul Sharma S/O Purshottam R/O Sambal Udhampur, Suneet Singh S/O Pardeep Singh R/O Sambal Udhampur and Rameshwar Singh @ Guchhu S/O Karan Singh R/O Sambal.
All the accused were booked vide FIRs No 367/2015 and 368/2015 lodged u/s 307/336/436/147/148/120-B/427 RPC and 3/5 of Explosives Substances Act. Now with one of the persons attacked in the incident succumbing to injuries the accused have been booked u/s 302 RPC for murder.
The five persons booked earlier under PSA include Sandoor Singh S/O Thakur Singh R/O Dheda, Tehsil Gool, Danish @Pamma S/O Khushia R/O Ward No 12, Dewak, Udhampur, Harish Singh Katoch S/O Chuni Lal Katoch R/O Village Bhimdassa, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban, Balbahadur Singh @ Abbu S/O Girdhari Lal R/O Moungri, Tehsil Moungri and Varinder Singh @ Kaka R/O Nepal A/P Sambal A/P Shiv Nagar, District Udhampur.
