Chief Minister visits Balakote, Bimbar Gali; consoles with bereaved family

Mehbooba Mufti consoles the family on LOC

Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today visited Balakote, Bimber Gali to console with the family who lost five of its members during cross border shelling yesterday.

The Chief Minister handed over cheques of Rs. 25 lacs as ex gratia to the next of kin of the deceased.

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh; Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation, Reconstruction & Disaster Management, Javed Mustafa Mir; legislators, Shah Muhammad Tantray, Choudhary Qamar and Yashpal Sharma accompanied the Chief Minister.

Mehbooba Mufti also handed over cheques of Rs. Three lacs each for meeting the educational expenses of the two daughters of the family who too were injured in yesterday’s shelling incident. She also announced bearing of all expenses coming on the treatment of these two surviving family members. She also assured that the brother of the deceased breadwinner of the family would be given job by the Government to sustain the family.

The Chief Minister also announced construction of 15 community bunkers in Balakote area besides stationing of one bunker vehicle for the help of the local people. Besides, she also announced strengthening of health facilities including a trauma hospital, road connectivity and other facilities in the area.

Chief Secretary, B B Vyas; Principal Secretary, Home, R K Goyal; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal; Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Hemant Sharma; IGP, Jammu zone, Dr. SDS Jamwal; senior officers of Army and Poonch district administration also accompanied the Chief Minister during her visit.

Militant attack Sunjawan Army camp at 4am. Reportedly 2 to 3 ultras entered the camp in wee hours and started indiscriminate firing.Reports suggest militants are still in the camp. Chopper also deployed and is hovering over Bathindi and Sunjawan area.

In wake of SMHS shootout, authorities today shifted five inmates from central jail Srinagar to various jails in Jammu division. sources said that the five detainees who were lodged in central jail under unlawful prevention acts and other laws, were shifted to various Jammu jails today. Sources identified them as including Maqsood Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad of Mamoosa, Pattan, Danish Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh of Aaloosa Bandipora, Showkat Ahmad Vakil son of Ghulam Mohd of Ghulam Mohd of Hajan, Nisar Ahmad Ganai son of Ghulam Mohd of Palhallan, Pattan and Rayees Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Maqbool of Aaloosa Bandipora.

LET terrorist Abu Hanzula escapes from SMHS hospital

LET terrorist escaped from SMHS hospital Srinagar when he was brought for medical check up along with other militants.

As per reports , six detainees were brought to SMHS from Central Jail. One terrorist snatched weapons from police & fired at the protection party. One policeman got critically injured who later succumbed. The prisoners name who snatched the weapon is said to be Naveed alias Abu Hanzula.

In this scuffle, a Pakistani LET terrorist Abu Hanzula escaped.

Syed Salahuddin expresses his willingness to step down as chief of HM

 

Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin who is supreme commander of hizbul Mujahideen has expressed his willingness to step down as the chief of hizbul Mujahideen. it is learnt that commander of Hizbul Mujahideen(HM) Amir Khan Imtiaz Alam and few others are lobbying against Syed Salahuddin. Intelligence report also reveals that ISI is also under pressure from lashkar e Taiba and Jaise Mohammed to remove hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin.

One officer and three jawans martyred in Pakistani firing on LOC

Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of Small arms, automatics, mortars and missiles from 1530 hours in BG sector along the Line of Control (LC). Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively and heavy damage has been inflicted on Pakistani Army Posts.

However, in the exchange of fire, one officer and three jawans were grievously injured and succumbed to their injuries and attained martyrdom.

Martyrdom of Indian Army soldiers will not go in vain. The unprovoked action by Pakistani Army will be given a befitting response.

Madrasa teacher arrested for sexually assaulting minor boy

A written complaint was received in Police Station Kreeri on 28/1/18
from a student of Madrasa Darul-Hudda accompanied by his father to the effect that on 20th December one teacher of the aforementioned seminary (Darulaloom) namely Mufti Hilal Ahmad Ganie R/O Nowpora,Jageer,Baramulla called the boy in his room after morning prayers and sexually assaulted him while other students were in masjid at that time taking lessons of Holy Quran. The said accused teacher according to the complainant closed the door and forcibly made an inter course with the victim.
Accordingly Case FIR No 04/18 under Section 377/506 RPC was regestered in Police Station Kreeri , Baramulla and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation medical formalities were completed and statements of witnesses were recorded Accused who was evading arrest was finally arrested by police yesterday.
Further investigation of the case is going on.

Army pays tribute to its valiant martyrs

In an unfortunate incident of avalanche in Machil sector on 02 Feb 2018, the Army lost three of its valiant soldiers. We pray for the gallant departed souls who braved all odds with exemplary commitment and dedication to duty and made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the motherland.

In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Corps Commander, Chinar Corps and all ranks paid homage to the martyrs on behalf of a proud nation.
Late Hav Kamlesh Singh, Nk Balveer and Sep Rajendra were part of a Patrol party which was serving in the formidable heights along the line of control and got swept away during an avalanche. Concerted efforts of Avalanche Rescue Team led to recovery of the mortal remains of our comrades.
Martyr Hav Kamlesh Singh, 39 years of age, had joined the Army in 1999 and hailed from Village Mahara Gujarwas located in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Coming from Village Anjari in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, martyr Nk Balveer was 31 years old and had donned the uniform in 2003. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
The young martyr Sep Rajendra was only 24 years old and had joined the Army in 2012. He belonged to Village Maithna of Alwar district in Rajasthan and is survived by his wife.
The mortal remains of the martyrs will be flown for last rites to their native places, where they would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved families of the martyrs and remains committed to their dignity and well being.

Two Pakistani trained militants arrested in Kashmir

Baramulla Police,Army and CRPF have arrested two militants who had gone to Pakistan on valid Pakistani visa to obtain arms training there for undertaking terrorist activities in the valley. They had obtained their Passports specifically for the said purpose.These militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba were nabbed immediately after returning via Wagah-Attari border before they could formally join the militant ranks here in Kashmir. Those arrested are 1. Abdul Majeed Bhat s/o Habibullah Bhat R/O Mughalpora,Saloora Kreeri ( Passport No R3981036)
2. Mohammad Ashraf Mir s/o Ghulam Ahmad Mir R/O Nilla, Palpora ,Pattan ( Passport No N7084132). Case FIR Number 12/2018 under section 13 ULA(P) Act has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been taken up.

On questioning the duo revealed that they had undergone terrorist training in Pakistan along with large number of Pakistani boys and most of them from Balochistan and as young as 10 years old.

The said terrorist camps are located near Burma Town, Islamabad ,Pakistan and being run by one terrorist commander operating under code name Hanzala Adanan and Omar. Other terrorists imparting training to young boys are operating with code names Osama,Naveed and Hataf. The arrested militants have been given Pakistani visas by Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.It’s pertinent to mention that for past couple of years police has unearthed several such modules who lure young boys to Pakistan to get trained and join militancy. In the past several such boys have been arrested and some of them killed in encounters.
On February 4th,2017 two militants namely1. Azharuddin alias Qazi R/O Natnusa,Kupwara and 2. Sajad Ahmad alias Babar R/O Duroo,Sopore got killed in an encounter in Amargarh,Sopore and both the killed militants had gone to Pakistan on valid visa to obtain terror training and subsequently joined militancy here and got killed.
One Suhaib Farooq Akhoon s/o Farooq Ahmad Akhoon R/O Khanpora,Baramulla has also visited Pakistan in August last year and acquired terrorist training in Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist camp and subsequently gone underground,joined militant ranks and is currently active.
One more militant Abdul Rashid Bhat R/O Krankshvan,Sopore was also arrested last year on 17th July by Baramulla police on who had also undergone training in Pakistan under similar circumstances.
Parents are requested to keep watch on their wards and their prolonged absence from home should be immediately reported to police so that lives of these boys are saved.

Mob tried to lynch a Jawan in Shopian

incident On 27Jan18 at about 1500 hours, an army administrative convoy was passing through Ganaupura chowk in Shopian when it came under unprovoked and intense stone pelting by a group of 100-120 stone pelters. Within no time, their numbers swelled to 200-250 persons. The crowd surrounded an isolated portion of the convoy consisting of four vehicles. They caused extensive damage to these vehicles and tried to set them on fire. A junior commissioned officer accompanying the convoy got hit on the head and fell unconscious suffering serious injury. The mob tried to lynch the individual and snatch his weapon. The violent crowd further closed in towards the vehicles and attempted to set them on fire. Considering the extreme gravity of the situation the army was constrained to open fire in self defence to prevent lynching of the JCO and burning of Government vehicle by the mob. A total of seven army men suffered injuries and extensive damage was caused to eleven vehicles. In the process two civilians succumbed to the bullet injuries.
